Kansas is back home at Allen Fieldhouse to play Sunflower State rival Kansas State on Tuesday night, a week after the Jayhawks’ only home loss.

The Sunflower State rivals have a long history of bad football.

That’s especially true in southeast Kansas, which is typically the wettest corner of the Sunflower State.

Stegall declined to comment on his letter, which first became public in a story in the Sunflower State Journal and also was published in full by a free-market, small-government group’s newsletter.

His plan to resign was first reported by the Sunflower State Journal.
