Tawny Owl

He had seen tawny owls in the neighbourhood before but was surprised to discover these so close to the heart of the city.

Paul Ovington said he spotted the tawny owl on Skelton bypass in North Yorkshire in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

However, the next morning they found the tawny owl hanging from the front of the car.

The nocturnal tawny owl is so rarely seen, its disembodied cry seems to be “the voice of night itself.”
