The album is available in two distinct mixes: The Bright-Side Mix by Mark “Spike” Stent and the Dark-Side Mix by Tchad Blake.

Following a brief internment he travelled to north Africa, where he joined the 9th company of the Régiment de Marche du Tchad, part of the 2nd Armoured Division, commanded by Gen Philippe Leclerc.

After finishing recording, the men handed the tapes to sound mixer Tchad Blake with the instruction to take it in any direction he sees fit.

The band then worked out the material in a seedy place in L.A.’s skid row, and when it was time to record, brought in producer Mitchell Froom and engineer Tchad Blake.

The whole of Soodan, more than two thousand miles in extent, was once under the Maïs of Bornoo; but by dissensions and civil wars nearly all the tributaries north of Lake Tchad were lost.
