"It started off as a topper for my garden gate and I'm afraid I got a little bit carried away," she explained.

She was so inspired by the events that she decided to knit a post box topper of Ms Vennells being questioned by Mr Beer.

"My sister went in the Post Office and she said: 'Nobody's talking about Covid any more, they're talking about the post box topper outside the door.'"
