Championship winners Leeds welcome Everton to Elland Road for the Monday night game, while Burnley - promoted back to the top flight at the first time of asking - travel to Europa League holders Tottenham, who will be led by Thomas Frank in a league match for the first time.

Newcastle and Tottenham ended their trophy droughts in 2025 and both are back in the Champions League, as are Chelsea, and all will hope their squads are up to the challenge of competing on multiple fronts.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy says sacking manager Ange Postecoglou after he led the club to victory in the Europa League was "emotionally" difficult.

Levy has held his position at Tottenham for more than 25 years with Frank becoming the 13th permanent manager in that time.

The 51-year-old Dane has signed a deal that will keep him in charge at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2028.
