Toyonaka

Tsukamoto kindergarten in Toyonaka, Osaka prefecture, sent a letter to parents in which it described Korean residents of Japan and Chinese people as having “wicked ideas,” using a derogatory term for Chinese.

A neighboring, slightly larger plot of land was sold to the city of Toyonaka to build a park for $12.5 million — 10 times the amount the school paid — in 2010.

In comparison, a neighboring plot only slightly larger was bought by the local municipality, Toyonaka City, for 1.4 billion yen in 2010.

But for 5 days every month, Earth’s magnetosphere passes over the moon, shielding it from the solar particles and allowing slower-speed particles from Earth to take their place, says Kentaro Terada, a cosmochemist at Osaka University in Toyonaka, Japan.

“Is that real?” gasped one sixth grader, 12, from Toyonaka in Osaka Prefecture, as he walked up to the display.
