Taiwan has condemned Somalia for banning travellers with Taiwanese passports from entering or transiting through the East African country.

At a "selfie point" outside town, overlooking lush meadows and a rushing river, Akshay Solanki, a tourist from Mumbai, said there was "panic" among his group of travellers on the day of the attack.

While some flights are running as normal, the issues impacted the roads and public transport is likely to be a problem for travellers trying to get to airports.

"There is a lot of hate and discrimination against travellers, and people don't get jobs because they're travellers," says Ebony, on why she's hidden her heritage in the past.

He acknowledges that it's not for everyone, and that some people prefer to be away with friends and family, but he wants to encourage would-be travellers to "throw yourself in".
