Wales produced a vastly-improved performance in Viborg as they suffered a 2-1 defeat by Denmark in Group Three of League A in the Nations League.

The match is the second time Denmark and Australia will play in a year; the Matildas earned their first win ever over the Danes in a 3-1 friendly played Viborg, Denmark, last October.

They have lost to Manchester City, Nottingham Forest and Brighton but made easy work of seeing off Viborg, who are sixth in Denmark's top flight.

That game will take place in Viborg next Thursday, with the winners joining the group stage of the competition when it begins on 8 September.

Viborg is playing in European competition for the first time in 22 years.
