The first thing Vreeland did, Von Furstenberg says, was push her chin up.

“Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful,” Vreeland said.

“Before I knew it, I was out the door with my suitcase,” says Von Furstenberg, and Vreeland’s assistant was telling her that she thought Vreeland liked the work and would do something with it.
