If passed in the Senedd, it will allow members of the public to challenge organisations in Wales, including councils, on environmental issues such as water pollution.

The Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee says it is worried about how NRW plans to keep an eye on matters such as fly-tipping, illegal chemical dumping and water pollution.

The EPA has also announced plans to roll back more than two dozen other regulations, which environmentalists say would severely harm the nation’s progress in addressing air and water pollution.
