The Braves lost their star safety, Peyton Woodyard, to Oregon.

To Sheneen McClain, it doesn’t make sense that officer Nathan Woodyard, who stopped her son and put him in a neck hold, was acquitted, while officer Roedema received a lighter sentence than the paramedic Cichuniec.

The other two officers prosecuted in McClain's death, Jason Rosenblatt and Nathan Woodyard, were both acquitted.

A different jury acquitted officer Nathan Woodyard a few weeks later, after he testified that he put McClain in a neck hold, briefly rendering him unconscious.

Woodyard testified that he feared for his life after Roedema said McClain had grabbed for one of their guns.
