Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, ����é�� Zellweger's fourth film as the much-loved-yet-shambolic diarist, made £11.8m in its first four days after its release on Thursday.

The film series, starring ����é�� Zellweger in the titular role, makes Bridget’s struggle between backward ideas of feminine self-loathing and her intrepid quest for love even more palatable for the average viewer.

It was a movie that centered a woman’s nonlinear journey toward recovery, and this era of “Bridget Jones” sees Zellweger walking a similarly winding path toward whatever waits at the end of the road.

The director also credits Zellweger with the series’ endurance, calling her one of the few actors who’s also an effortless physical comedian.
